We are proud to introduce a new, state-of-the-art technology, TrueTear® Intranasal Neurostimulation Device. TrueTear® is recommended for adult patients who suffer from inadequate tear production.
TrueTear® is a handheld neurostimulation device with disposable tips that is inserted into the nasal cavity, using tiny pulses of energy to introduce the production of natural tears. It is a novel and innovative approach for those patients with inadequate tear production. In two clinical trials, TrueTear® was shown to be safe and effective for temporarily increasing tear production in adult patients.
How To Use TrueTear®
People with dry eyes either do not produce enough tears or they have poor quality tears. Common symptoms of dry eye disease include redness, dryness, grittiness, soreness, irritation, burning, itching, fluctuation in vision, light sensitivity, watery and tired eyes. These symptoms can hinder a person’s daily activities. Historically, common therapies aimed at dry eye symptom relief included using warm compresses, over- the-counter wetting drops and ointments, and prescription drugs.
Dry eye disease is one of the most common topics that patients discuss when visiting eye care professionals. We are very pleased to provide various treatment options to help those patients who are very frustrated with this chronic disease and all of the ways it negatively impacts their lives, says Dr. Olkowski.
