The Gift of Sight, as reported on KHON
A freak accident left an eighth grader at Highland Intermediate blind in his left eye. The injury meant he couldn’t play any of the sports he loves. But a state of the art procedure fixed his eyesight so well he can see near, far and everywhere in between and it was all thanks to a big donation from Dr. Olkowski of EyeSight Hawaii and Bausch & Lomb.

KGMB 9 Interviews Dr. Olkowski
KGMB9 interviews Dr. Olkowski regarding cataract surgery and a new lens called Crystalens. According to merriam-webster.com, cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye or of its surrounding transparent membrane that obstructs the passage of light. Crystalens is a new type of lens that actually focuses, far and near so both your near vision and far vision would be corrected.
